NewFangled Vision is looking for an experienced Oracle PL/SQL DB Tuning Developer to work on-site at our esteemed client's location for an exciting project. As a DB Tuning Developer, you will have the unique opportunity to collaborate directly with the client's team and optimize their Oracle databases for peak performance. Collaborate with the client's development and DBA teams to assess and understand the database performance challenges.
Analyze database performance metrics, query execution plans, and system behaviour to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks.
Optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions using advanced PL/SQL techniques to enhance the system's overall performance and response times.
Collaborate closely with the client's development teams to conduct code reviews and ensure best practices are followed for efficient database access and data manipulation.
Work alongside the client's infrastructure team during system upgrades to ensure database performance is maintained or improved.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to conduct performance testing and analyze results.
Provide regular updates and reports on the progress of database tuning activities to both the client and NewFangled's management team.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Proven experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer, with a focus on database performance tuning and optimization.
Strong expertise in PL/SQL programming, with a deep understanding of query execution plans and SQL optimization techniques.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, features, and functionality.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with the client's team and provide guidance on performance best practices.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to adapt to the client's work environment and effectively contribute to the project from the client's site.
